Lead sponsors of Habitat for Humanity homes

Representation from First Presbyterian Church was instrumental in founding Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg in 1987. Since that time, the church has funded the construction of 19 new homes and the recycle of 5 existing homes, allowing 24 Spartanburg families to move from substandard housing into a new or like new Habitat home.

Jordan Oil Company, a longtime friend of Habitat, has provided funding to build 6 Hot Spot homes. These homes can be found in the Sycamores (Una) and in Spartanburg on Brawley, Highland and North Center Streets.

Denny's Corporation is directly responsible for the construction of 4 homes in the past four years. Donations from Denny's has paid for the homes and each year there has been a Denny's Build Day with over 125 employee volunteers working to build the house.

Publix Super Markets Charities is a major contributor to Habitat for Humanity. Grants from the foundation have provided major funding for 6 Habitat homes.
