Framing Spartanburg's Future: Habitat in the northside
In a wonderful partnership with Northside Development Group, Habitat Spartanburg is working in the Northside - an area that the city has primed for redevelopment.
Work is heavily underway at 541 North Forest Street - the first of three planned builds in the area. The Northside is perfect for Habitat since homeowners will have convenient access to downtown, healthcare services, Harvest Park, Cleveland Academy of Leadership and the planned Dr. T.K. Gregg Community Center.
The first home is sponsored with support from the J.M. Smith Foundation, First Presbyterian Church and the Eldred and Sarah Prince Wooten Foundation and the home situated in the center of the three-home build is fully sponsored by Denny's Corporation. These homes, all with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, will offer open floor plans and are Energy Start 3.0 Certified.
Now is the time to get involved with Habitat Spartanburg. Volunteer for an hour or two and we promise, you'll be back. Every dollar in contributions we receive go directly into materials for our construction materials. Call us. Stop by. Email us. We need your help to continue building dreams.

"We are working closely with Habitat to build homes in our available residential lots near the Hospital. This partnership promotes the shared ideas of both organizations- to help Spartanburg neighborhoods become safer, to restore dignity to individuals and to build healthier places to live and build families."
- Bruce Holstien, Chief Executive Officer, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System
"The community seeks positive improvements on its north side. While our focus is on 400 acres abutting Habitat's property, we are thrilled at the potential for improved housing and infrastructure adjacent to our work. We thank SRHS and we admire and support the Habitat team, their vision and purpose."
- Bill Barnet, Chairman, Northside Development Group
"For years, Habitat has been providing a home for families in the area. This latest venture with the Hospital holds promise to be something very special. This is the type of development that will provide returns to the community for years to come."
- Curt McPhail, Project Coordinator, Northside Development Group
