Charlene Lyle is one of Habitat Spartanburg's most loyal and faithful volunteers -- part of an elite group known as, "The Regulars." Charlene has volunteered thousands of hours on more than 40 Habitat homes.
Charlene taught school for six years, and left the profession when her husband, Bob, was relocated. She has studied accounting and was the Payroll Manager of PMA Insurance Company. Charlene and Bob moved to Spartanburg in 2008 and she became involved in Habitat Spartanburg in 2012 with the first Women's Build.
"I fell in love with the work and the people," Charlene said. "I love learning and then sharing that knowledge with others."
Charlene has served on the Neighborhood Support Committee before joining the Construction Committee, and now also serves on the Homeowner Selection Committee.
In December 2018, Charlene was recognized for her faithful service and dedication to Habitat by receiving the Thad Strickland Awared for Extraordinator Contribution to Habitat Spartanburg.
