Events at Drayton Mills will proudly sponsor the inaugural Upcycled Art Show to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20 at Drayton Mills.
Held in conjunction with ArtWalk, 52 artists have been selected to upcycle, recreate, reinvent or embellish an item from the ReStore for this free event. The final pieces will be auctioned to benefit Habitat Spartanburg. A Silent Auction will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a Live Auction will begin at 7 p.m.
“Habitat for Humanity depends on the Spartanburg community to support our mission of providing a path to ownership of safe and affordable housing for low income families," said Habitat Spartanburg Executive Director Lee Close. "We are excited to involve the Spartanburg arts community in this effort and are overwhelmed by the interest expressed by artists in the area. Please join us for ArtWalk in June to see these artists creativity as they show their work using items from the Habitat ReStore and offer these upcycled pieces for sale at auction. We are enormously grateful for the support of the Events at Drayton for hosting this wonderful event.”
Michael Davidson with MADD Music will provide music and a cash bar will be on-site.
