Renewed Hope in the Days of COVID-19

Written By: Lynne Shackleford - April 16th, 2020

As we all navigate the COVID-19 pandemic that has disrupted our lives and normal operations, Habitat Spartanburg remains committed to providing homeownership opportunities and Critical Home Repairs to those in need.
Habitat offices and the ReStore thrift store will remain closed at least through April and Executive Director Lee Close continues to closely monitor daily updates and determine our best course of action. Our team is working remotely from home and is accessible for questions, and guidance, daily.
It takes two vital components to operate a successful Habitat affiliate: funding and volunteers. Those two components are the lifeblood of our operation and our volunteers have been so understanding as we have temporarily shuttered our construction and ReStore.
Funding for new home construction and Critical Home Repairs remains a bit uncertain as we navigate the coming months and weeks and follow guidance from our national, state and local leaders.
Charity Navigator, the nation's leading charity nonprofit guide, and #GivingTuesdayNow have partnered for a one day global giving opportunity to allow folks an opportunity to support local nonprofits. #GivingTuesdayNow will be held Tuesday, May 5 and our hope is that you will consider a gift to Habitat Spartanburg as we serve the county's most vunerable population. Having a safe home -- one where you can find rest, peace and health is more important now than ever.
Every penny donated will be used to purchase construction materials for Habitat Spartanburg projects.
