Habitat Homeownership

Homeownership Program

Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg is an ecumenical Christian ministry that changes lives by building safe, decent, and affordable homes in partnership with Spartanburg County community members in need.

Are we accepting applications?

Due to limited capacity, we are not accepting applications to the Homeownership Program at this time. However, we will start taking applications again as soon as there is space available. We estimate that we will start being able to take applications again in about six months, but please check this webpage regularly for updates.

If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to go ahead and download the application packet below, so you can take this time to get yours ready.

How can you apply?

The application for the Homeownership Program is available for download at the link above. If you would like a hard copy of the application mailed to you, please contact our Family Services Coordinator at 864.279.7875.

What if you already own a home or land?

The value of any existing homes, land, or other real property may be factored into your income eligibility for the Homeownership Program.

We do not build houses on land that we do not own, and we do not perform whole-house rehabilitations at this time. If you are interested in repairs on your current home, please consider our Critical Home Repair Program as an alternative.

Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg has pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. Policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin.
