Alexis joined Habitat in February 2023 as Volunteer Coordinator/Media Specialist. She grew up in the Upstate and graduated from Byrnes High School in 2016. Following high school, she attended USC Upstate to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a double minor in Child Advocacy Studies and Criminal Justice. While an undergraduate, she developed a passion for helping families and children in need and decided to become a social worker. She graduated with her Master of Social Work from Winthrop University in 2023 and became a licensed social worker in 2025. She lives in Spartanburg with her cat, Poncho, and dog, Daisy. She loves to binge-watch Netflix and plan her next Disney World trip in her free time.
I love the vision of Habitat for Humanity Spartanburg. Safe and affordable housing is a right that everyone should be afforded. The work at Habitat Spartanburg helps break detrimental cycles for the next generations by providing families with an environment where they can grow and excel. My goal as Volunteer Coordinator is to encourage a community that supports one another when we see our neighbor is in need.
